Folder auditing alternative?

Hi guys,

I have a folder on a server that keeps being overloaded with text files. I am not sure what creates these, and I'd like to avoid enabling auditing.

I've looked at who the owner is and it's the local admin account.

Is there any other way to check where these files come from/what application is writing the files on the folder?
