This may be hard to explain, you folks are always so helpful, so I'll try my best. Here we go.
I have a server for my business, it is a Western Digital DS6100 running WSE 2012 R2.
Nightly I back up the ServerFolders (all sub-folders and files there) to two off-site NASs via FTP. I use a third party program called SyncbackPro v7. Wednesday night, for some unknown reason my server completely crashed and was unrecoverable.
WD is sending me a new server.
Here comes my question. Syncback will restore all my Folders and all my files with a single click (I have all its profiles backed up, and the files on the NAS). The problem is I have noticed if I add or create Folders through the Windows file
explorer, and NOT through the Dashboard, then the folders appear to not be visible everywhere, and I'm not sure they have the proper permissions, etc. Syncback will recreate the folders, but obviously that will be done as if I was using File Explorer,
not the Dashboard. Any suggestions on the best way to have WSE 2012 Dashboard recognize folders it did not create?
Perhaps I manually add back the Folders, then see if Syncback will find and use that folder and replace its files?
Or should I let Syncback add the folders back, with their files and somehow get the Dashboard to recognize folders it did not create and set the proper permissions and so forth?
I know this question is going to be a pain in the neck to answer, so I appreciate any help, info and suggestions. Thanks!
